Ernest was born in Maryland and moved to Ocala in 1971 after his retirement from Interstate Corporation. He is a US Army WWII veteran serving in the Philippines.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Esther Burkhart; son,Frank Burkhart; daughters, Judy Griswold, Janet Hardy and Donna Dovico; brothers, Paul and Richard Burkhart, and sister, Doris Shoop; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren,and six great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at Forest Lawn
Funeral Home, Ocala, Florida. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ocala, Florida.
