Betty A. Shaw

Betty A. Shaw, 76, Ocala, FL. Went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2010 under the loving care of her family and Marion County Hospice. Betty was born on October 16, 1933 in White Springs, Florida to her parents Frank and Pearl Johns. She was a homemaker and dedicated her life to her family and First Church of the Nazarene of Ocala, Florida. Betty served as a Legislative Assistant for Rep. Huston Roberts of Live Oak during the 1955 session. She also served as the Secretary of a committee that Rep. Roberts Chaired.

Survived by her husband of 56 years Dean G. Shaw of Ocala, FL.; (3) Sons: Ron and Georgena Shaw, Steve and Anita Shaw, Kevin Shaw; all of Ocala, FL. (3) Daughters: Debbi Mockerman, Kendra and Andy Poppell, Patti and Mike Ott: all of Ocala, FL.; a Brother: LaVaughn Johns of Jacksonville, FL.; 14 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 12:30PM at the First Church of The Nazarene, Ocala, Florida with Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ocala, FL. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Ocala, FL.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Betty’s loving memory to Hospice of Marion County.
