Known to close friends and family as Pete, he was born on July 18, 1958, to Robert and Gloria Boucher in Melrose Park, IL. A proud graduate of Proviso West, Class of 1976, he embarked on a diverse and entrepreneurial career, owning several businesses before landing at Boingo, where he dedicated 20 years.
Family was the heartbeat of Pete’s life. In 1982, he met the love of his life, Pamela, and they married on April 16, 1983. Together, they raised three incredible children: Adam, Lucas, and Lauren. He was also a proud soon-to-be grandfather.
Pete thrived as a devoted husband and father, finding immense joy in his family. He was a passionate fan of Chicago baseball, football, and his beloved Chicago Blackhawks. Pete and Pam cherished their travels across the country and he loved taking spontaneous car rides with her as his favorite co-pilot. Pete’s veranda was a sanctuary for lively gatherings with family and friends. He cherished walks around the lake, live music (with a special fondness for Kenny Chesney), and everything Hallmark during his favorite season of Christmas. His smile could light up any room, and his happiness was infectious.
A pillar of strength to everyone who knew him, Pete was known for his wisdom, heartfelt hugs, and genuine care for others. He valued hard work and always aimed to make a positive impact on those around him. With a straightforward demeanor, unwavering patience, and the ability to handle challenges with grace, he was the best person to have on your team. He leaves a hole that will be felt by many.
Pete was predeceased by his father, Robert Boucher. He is survived by his loving wife Pam; his children, Adam, Lucas, and Lauren (Sam) King; mother Gloria Boucher; and his siblings, Lisa Koma (Barb Spall), Robert (Marilynn) Boucher, and Marcia (Jeff) Zaremba and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Steven will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17w201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.
