John, the most loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judith (Darby); son Nathan, daughters Alison Abreu (Jose), Emily Phamornsuwana (Sarn), and son Justin (Jegie); grandchildren Jose Jr., Cecilia, and Enrique.
Preceded in death by father Humberto Manuel Carrera, mother Lelah Gladys Weiss, brothers Manuel Jr. (Avis), and Thomas (MaryAnn). Survived by brothers Richard (Delores), sisters Esther, Mary Terrones and brother David; brother-in-law to Debbie and Todd Heuer, Roger and Donna Darby, LeRoy and Deb Darby.
Upon graduation from Schurz High School, John worked for Sears Roebuck and Company, the Milwaukee railroad as an office employee, and multi-line insurance salesman at Horace Mann Insurance Company and then AAA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name may be made to the Lake Geneva Youth Camp, Lake Geneva WI, or the Les Turner ALS Foundation in Skokie, IL.
