Jacob Elliott Slocum born October 5, 1999 gained eternal life in heaven on December 5, 2022 at the age of 23. A lifelong resident of Elmhurst, Illinois; he graduated from York High School in 2018 and immediately left for Basic Training at Great Lakes Naval Station in entrance to the United States Navy. Blessed with such great intelligence, Jacob graduated from the United States Navy’s Nuclear Power Program. He served his country aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN71) deploying through the South China Sea.
Jacob enjoyed various video games and spent his Friday nights while in high school playing Dungeons and Dragons and Magic with his best buddies. Jacob had a beautiful gentle soul, willing to help anyone when needed.
Jake is survived by his parents Daniel and Elspeth Slocum and Kimberly and Andy McInerney, his sister and best friend Danya Emilie Slocum, his pal and sister Bowie McInerney, grandparents Dan and Marlys Slocum and Garry and Midge Grabowski. He will be remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A visitation for Jacob will be held 4pm-8pm on Wednesday, December 28th, 2022 at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home & Cemetery, 17W201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
