Flora Tiongson Cuadro was born on August 6, 1947 in the city of Malolos, a province of Bulacan in the Philippines. She was born to parents Felipe and Maria Tiongson and sister to Rustica Reyes, Felipe Tiongson Jr. and Juanito Tiongson. Flora was married to Jaime Cuadro on May 18, 1969 and joined him in Seattle, WA where he was recruited to America as a Mechanical Engineer to develop the first Boeing 747 aircraft.
Jaime and Flora moved to Chicago where Flora gave birth to daughter, Myra, in 1971 and son, Ronnie, in 1976. They eventually settled in Glendale Heights. They petitioned for their siblings and parents to immigrate to America and opened their home to many, sharing their great blessings to help others begin to pursue their dreams in the States.
Flora had many talents and worked as an accountant, an entrepreneur and business owner, a pharmacy technician and until just one year ago, a caregiver for the elderly. She had an incredible work ethic. Jaime and Flora built homes in Winfield, IL and Lake Carroll and were passionate ballroom dancers.
But what people will remember most about Flora is the amazing joy she brought into every one of our lives. She was an agent of God’s love to so many, sharing of herself in times of both laughter and tears. Flora said what she thought (and was often right) and had the courage to give tough love to those whom she loved the most. Flora will be profoundly missed but the positive impact she’s had on all of us will live on forever.
Flora is survived by her daughter, Myra (Marvin) Paysen, her son, Ronnie (Katrina) Cuadro, and grandchildren Ryan, Alyssa, Kyle, Kaya, Caleb and Adrian.
Visitation for Flora will be held Monday, June 24, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17w201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181, with a Funeral Service taking place at 6:00 PM. Interment private.
