Carmella Rose Guido, of Sycamore, Illinois passed away at the age of 94 years old. She was born November 3, 1930 and was raised in Melrose Park, Illinois, where she met her husband of 70 years, the late, Frank Guido Jr. She was the mother of three children Terria Surico, Frank Guido, and James Guido. She was the beloved grandmother to, Haley, Matthew, Anthony, and Gianna Guido. Cherished great grandmother to, Alex Barasa. Beloved sister to Marianne McComb, Betty Rizzo, the late Caroline McKernan, and Joseph Bonauro.
Carmella dedicated her life to hard work, taking on various factory jobs where she showed remarkable diligence. She also spent many years waitressing for banquet halls bringing kindness to those she served, all while raising her three children. She enjoyed traveling with her husband finding joy in exploring new places and visiting with their many friends. Carmella and her husband were active members of bowling leagues, where they spent countless nights enjoying the game and sharing laughter with friends. She always cherished traveling with her sister to visit other sisters in Florida, creating beautiful memories filled with lots of laughter. As she grew older her favorite pastime became spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. She especially enjoyed her great-grandchild who was born soon after her husband passed, and their precious bond brought her much comfort and she treasured the moments they shared.
A visitation for Carmella will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Rd. Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. A prayer service is scheduled for Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Hill Gardens Funeral Home with burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery & Mausoleums, 1400 S Wolf Rd., Hillside, IL 60162.
