Roy R Coates was born to Prentice and Ann Coates in February of 1944. He was a loving husband to Kathy Coates (Kath), wife of 56 years, and mother of their 3 children, Kimberly (Little One), Donna (Moose), and Roy (The Kid). He was a proud PaPa to many grandchildren and soon would have been a Great PaPa in October of this year. He passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2022. His parents, Prentice and Ann, as well as his son Roy, and his siblings, Carole (Jerry) and Jim, proceeded him in death.
He is at peace now with the ones he has missed so very much. He was a quiet man but deeply loved his family. He had been retired for 14 years. His main profession was as a Machinist and had retired from the city of Chicago. We are sure he’s watching over all of us with a cigarette in one hand and a beer in the other. Cheers to you Roy, Daddy, Papa. It’s fine – I’m fine – We’re fine.
A memorial visitation for Roy will be held Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL. Interment private.
