Janet Marilyn Garrett

Janet M. Garrett, age 88, formerly of Evergreen Park, Illinois passed away peacefully with family by her side Friday, August 12, 2022 in Louisville, Kentucky. Janet is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Edward D. Garrett, her parents Thomas and Mae Gillice, sister Shirley Moore (nee Gillice) and brother James Gillice. Janet is lovingly missed by her sons Edward (Donna), Kurt (Michelle), and daughter Deanne Gustafson (Brian); grandchildren, Ariana (Matt) Hayes, Amanda (Matt) Sisley, Nathan (Courtney) Garrett, Edward, Ryan (Marilina), Daniel, and Elise Gustafson, and Sam Garrett; great-grandchildren, Caiden, Ethan, Colton, Brynna, Brielle, and Georgia; along with many nieces and nephews.

Janet was an active and longstanding member of First United Methodist Church of Evergreen Park. She had a successful career as owner/operator of Garrett Dance Studio in Evergreen Park for over 25 years.

A visitation will be held on Friday August 19th, 2022 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home 4727 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, with a Funeral Service to follow on Saturday August 20th, 2022 at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church of Evergreen Park, interment Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
