Mom,
I never wrote on this page as I simply couldn't bring myself to do so.  But, almost a year after you left us I feel maybe it is time.  

We celebrated an amazing event this weekend...the wedding of your grandson to a wonderful young woman...Tom and Amanda Lynn.  It was awesome!!  We missed you and Dad so much this past weekend but know you were shining down on all of us, as you do each and every day.  Bill spoke words that were so true...a year ago we wept with sadness, today we smile with joy...God's healing power is simply amazing to me.  

So, Mom, almost one year ago we said good night to each other here on earth for the last time, but I think of you every single day and miss you more than any words could ever possibly explain.

My hope is that you are enjoying your time with Dad and Gram and Grandpa and Nonnie and Uncle Chuck and Uncle Bill and Aunt Hattie and Uncle Dick and all the others who were waiting for you in heaven.  I will never, ever forget any of you.

My heart goes out to you and to your family.  It is a time to reflect and to thank your mother for all that she did to help you throughout your life.  The hardest part is to realize that you will never be able to touch her.  The best part is that she will always be in your heart.  You and your family are in my prayers.

Grandma, 
How do I even begin to put into words what you mean to me.  I was your youngest grandson, which was awesome because I got to have you all to myself once the older grandchildren went off to college.  I have so many great memories of you that I will forever cherish.  I always looked to you when I needed someone to talk to about something that I didn't want to talk to my parents about.  You treated me like I was royalty in your eyes, by giving me money for no other reason besides wanting to let me know that you were thinking about me, by always making sure that you had my favorite treats when I came to visit you, by doing anything that I wanted to, and by giving me anything that I wanted.  You were the best grandma anyone could ever ask for.  I cry knowing that you aren't here anymore, but I know that you are in a better place.  I know you and grandpa are sitting up in heaven watching Wheel of Fortune and eating all of your favorite treats.  You meant the world to me and to the whole family.  We will all miss you, and we all love you very much.  This isn't goodbye, it's simply see you later, because we will meet again one day.  I love you grandma.  I will never forget you.  Thank you for everything that you have done for me.  Most of all thank you for the best gift that you have ever given me, which is being a part of my life for 18 years.

Alan, Sue, Amanda I'm so sorry for your loss.  May all your memories comfort all of you at this time of sorrow.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Our deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother and grandmother.  She was a lovely lady who loved her family very much.  I was in the pool at Palos Health with Doris until the time of her surgery. She told me that her husband was very involved with Bogan baseball & then we had even more in common as our sons knew him well. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Gramma,

It is impossible to put into words what you have meant to me over the past 24 years. The best I can do is say thank you and I love you. From you and Grandpa always taking me to Drury Lane, to vacations, to taking me to meet Barney, never missing a softball, soccer, or basketball game, and most of all just being there for me as I grew up and just listening. We had a very special bond from the beginning, and that never changed, even as I got older. When your stubborn son didn't "see" where I was coming from, you were always there to guide me in the right direction, but always did it discretely so I felt like I was making the decision, but deep down I know you always led me to do what you believed was right. I know we always gave you a hard time growing up about always having to pause for a photo op, but now I am so incredibly glad you took all those photos of us! So many wonderful memories all of us grandkids will be able to share with our own families one day. You loved our family so much and were always so caring and genuine. I'll always treasure our relationship and will never forget all the great times we had together. The past 48 hours have been filled with many tears, but also many smiles as I try to pick out the best photos for your video tribute. I am so honored to be your granddaughter. Give Grandpa a hug and help guide all of us through the next few days as we celebrate your life.
