David M Gawel

David M. Gawel passed away peacefully at the age of 61. Dave is survived by his beloved wife Victoria (Vickie, nee Swann) of 32 years and his loving children, Nicholas, Jacob and Brooke. Dave is the devoted son of Virginia (the late Edward), and great brother to Edward Jr. (Cheryl), Susan (the late Steve) Hepp, James (Fiance Ashley), and Robert (Laura). Caring son-in-law of Frank and Carol Swann and kind brother-in-law to Frank (Maria), Tina, Geri (Thomas), and Greg (Dawn). Dave will be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless good friends.

Dave was an honest, hard-working family man. His humor was contagious, always bringing laughter to the room and never forgoing an opportunity to have fun. Known by many as “Donger”, he was unquestionably the life of the party. If he was not out bike riding, he was surrounding himself with family, friends and good times. He spent his weekends enjoying time with family, grilling, and of course never missing kickoff on football Sunday. Dave lived every moment of his life to the fullest. He will truly be missed.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023, 10:00am prayer service, from Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, Il 60453 processing to Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Mass 11:30am. Visitation will be held Monday, February 6, 2023, 3pm to 8pm. Interment will be private.
