Uncle Don was a wonderful man. I may not have been around him a whole lot growing up, but I got to know him just enough to know that he was a great man, uncle, grandfather, brother, father,  and husband.  RIP uncle Don. You will be miss but never forgotten.

Until I received this message by e mail today I did not realize this Guest book was still open. I know all of my loved ones family and friends have kept me in there prayers for this year that has passed since Don's death and I say thank you and God Bless each and every one of you. Don I miss you every day but I thank God every day that you are in heaven with God and Jesus Christ our Lord.

One month ago today you went home to be with the Lord I miss you Don with every breath I take. I thank God every day for the 58 years we had and all the wonderful memories.

Uncle Don, you always made me laugh.  Anytime I was around you, you made it fun.  I miss you very much.  Your marriage to my beautiful aunt is a true story of what love and commitment is all about.  Until we meet again, I love you.

I don't remember when we first met. I was too little, but I will always remember our last hug, you let go last. I wish I had never let go. Love you forever, my friend.  Fly with angels Uncle Don.

Don was always like an older brother to me when we were young, a long time ago.  Some my best memories are when we used to go pheasant hunting with my dad, and Louis.  One of the funniest times was when a bunch of us started across a field and Don was walking a levee around the edge.  He jumped up a bird behind us, swung around following the bird and took a shot.  Hit Louis right in the back and knocked him to the ground.  Didn't do any damage, but boy was Lou hot. Thank God we all had on thick layers of clothes, so it really didn't hurt.  More like a big shove in the back.  Wasn't much laughing at the time,  but it gets funnier with time.  I'll miss him a lot.

Wow, where to start, with a lifetime of memories?... Spending time with Don and Charlotte, whether as a child or as an adult, was always a special time filled with fun and laughter. Don taught me many things, but most importantly was not to take life - or myself - too seriously, to enjoy what you have when you have it. No matter how "down" you were, or how bleak you thought a situation might be, Don could always make you realize that maybe things might be better than they were, and even chuckling about the situation, if given enough time. In the 50+ years that I've known him, I honestly cannot recall him ever being mad or angry. I've been recently told that this is not true, but that's what I remember - always laughing, always joking, no matter what else was going on, no matter what God had handed to him. I know few other people that could carry on as he did.
I know that physically, Don has left us - but he'll forever be in my heart and soul. It's like he's just in the other room; I can't see him, but I know he's there, ready to crack another joke, play with his grandchildren, to tell me to straighten up and fly right (or at least not crash land...), to just be Don... I will miss him more than words can ever say.

I know I met Don at one time or another, the husband of my cousin Charlotte. I have prayed with Charlotte for Don these past many years, as his health deteriorated. I so admired, his zest for life, and how he pulled out of each and every set back. I know he is in glory, and Charlotte has the hope of being with him once more. I so appreciated their prayers, when my husband was ill, and their encouragement. Praying for you Charlotte, enjoy the memories...

Don was more than a brother-in- Law I would rather call him a brother. I know, I drove him nuts when I was young,but when, I needed help he would always be there.no matter how far away I was, I enjoyed drinking wine and talking with him, He was a good man,my family and I love him very much and will never forget him.

I have known you all for 46 years, I think. I have many memories of the entire family. Homemade ice cream, fishing, Halloween, Christmas, and on and on. Don always accepted me and my son, no matter what. I loved him with all my heart and will miss him greatly.

I will miss my Domino Partners Don and Tom two great brothers who gave me endless teasing on the game. They also had fishing-boating-hunting in their genes and caught many good salmons.It has been a wonderful ride with these two for me and will keep them forever in my heart ...... Christine Vincent

Dear Poe, Thank you for always accepting me, for having a genuine smile, a tender touch and a nickname for all of us. Your presence was a comfort for many and now your absence is a heartbreak for all. Personally, I ammoved to private tears by the strength of your family, mostly Mum.
