Tina Ann Jackman

On December 12, 2024, Tina Grzyb Jackman passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was the devoted wife of 62 years of the late Philip Joseph Jackman, the loving mother of Sheila Reuling and husband Eric of Forest Hill, MD, Susan Jackman and husband Herb Leary of Pacific Palisades, CA, and Michele Anthony and partner David Foley of Warrenton, VA. The beloved grandmother of Emily Mosher and husband Giles, Andrew Reuling, Katie Anthony and husband Alex Johnson, Max Anthony, and Jillian Leary, and dear great grandmother of Isaac Johnson.

Born on April 14, 1939, in Webster, Massachusetts, Tina was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose Grzyb. She was predeceased by her brother Dick Grzyb and sister-in-law Priscilla Grzyb, and brothers-in-law Frank Jackman, Bill Jackman, and Michael Jackman. She is survived by her brother Frank Grzyb and sisters-in-law Ginny Grzyb, Jane Jackman, Dianne Christine, Laura Zibell, and Sigrid Jackman, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Bryant College in Providence, Rhode Island, Tina began her career as an office manager. In 1962, she married Worcester Telegram sportswriter Phil and the couple resided in Webster, Massachusetts. In 1965, the Jackmans moved to Baltimore with their two young daughters and the third on the way for Phil to pursue a career opportunity with The Evening Sun. With Phil’s assignment as the Orioles beat reporter, the family traveled to Spring Training in Florida every year for the month of March where Tina home-schooled the girls in the morning and spent afternoons on the beach with players’ wives and kids. She enjoyed glimpsing celebrities in Miami including Frank Sinatra and President Richard Nixon.

After years as a stay-at-home mom, Tina returned to the workforce as manager of the former Perring Raquet Club, a vocation she cherished for more than 15 years and became a second mom to many of her young employees. She also enjoyed playing tennis with her friends as a foursome and in mixed doubles tournaments, spending New Year’s Eves in Easton, and summer vacations in Ocean City and Fenwick Island.

The consummate people person, Tina’s second career as a real estate agent at Coldwell Banker afforded her the opportunity to work with hundreds of clients and form dozens of new friendships with her realtor colleagues. A highlight was the annual Christmas bus trip to New York City where the ride was as entertaining as the Radio City and Broadway shows they attended.

But Tina’s first love was her family, and she was extremely proud of her daughters, grandchildren, great grandson, and their families. She will be remembered for always putting others before herself, taking interest in loved ones’ lives, and showing unconditional love and support.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church (Fullerton). Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. A celebration of Tina’s life will be held on a future date. Information will be updated as soon as possible.
