Born to the late Waino and Gertrude White, she was the sister of Tilden Cushing, Delores Clymer, Lorraine Raynor, Evelyn Colaianni, Joyce Stone, Carolyn Bradford, Wayne White, Darlene Armstrong and Diane Nierhaus.
Shirley lived the majority of her life in the Baltimore/Essex area and could not wait to become eligible to join the Essex-Dorsey Senior Center. When that time finally arrived she enjoyed craft classes in painting and ceramics. She later moved to Queen Anne’s County to reside with her husband and help care for her aging father-in-law. She loved the quiet solitude of this remote small town and the life of living on the Chester River. She also became a member of the Sudlersville Senior Center where she learned quilting, played cards, and played BINGO,
She was a loving, devoted wife and mother and is survived by her husband of 42 years, Earle F. Ford and children, Linda Caldwell, Michele Weir, Kelly Proffitt, Roy Brown and son-in-law Bob Caldwell.
Her commitment to her family was especially devoted to her grandchildren, Kimberly Goshen, Laura Milavec, Valerie Cordara, Mark Weir III, Shanna Holston, Tyler Brown, Lexi Brown, Josh Ford and Dalton Ford and great-grandchildren, Maddison and Hunter Goshen, Justin and Camryn Milavec, Owen, Addison and Ava Cordara and Lyric Holston, who all, affectionately, knew her as mom-mom.
Her family and friends will miss her dearly, for she was loved by all and will never be forgotten.
