I was very sorry to hear about John's passing. I knew John when they lived on Patterson Park Ave and I use to come on Sat. mornings and scrub their marble steps. Rest in peace John.

Mr. John was adored by the kids at Fullerton.  He truly loved kids and that was reflected in his smile and his silly sense of humor.  He and I would sing some "oldies" and dance when I would pick up my first graders and the kids would just giggle and laugh. He will truly be missed and my life is a little bit richer for having known him.

I will remember fondly, talking to Mr. John when he worked in the Fullerton cafeteria.  He had much in common with my husband, who also was a city police officer and a former Marine.  Mr. John told such great stories.  I so enjoyed his kidding around with my second graders, as they waited in the cafeteria line, and he showed a genuine fondness for them.  I'll miss him.

Mr. John was such a kind man.  I always enjoyed talking with him when I picked my students up from the Fullerton cafeteria.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and really cared about the children. A great neighbor love listening to your stories, I am really going to miss you. Thoughts and prayers to the wonderful family.

Always remember, Love is greater an death.  You carry him daily in your heart.  He was an awesome guy.  Always make you feel loved.  He sits with Aunt Sandra now, in no more pain.  I can only imagine their conversation.  We love you guys deeply and you are in our prayers.

What can you say about a man who came in to your lives and you didn't even know you needed him. John came into a family with 4 young girls who were set in their ways and were not ready to have someone new around. We quickly became friends and he loved our Mom the 4of us our husbands and girls like we were his own girls. He brought us 2 wonderful sisters and the brother we never had, he also gave us 5 wonderful nephews, 2 beautiful nieces and now a great nephew and great niece. He was there for all of us at anytime and nothing made him happier then talking about his kids, grandkids, career in the Police dept or mommy. For someone who was retired he had so many jobs, helped running Groundhog Bait and Tackle, Poppie Daycare, Poppies taxi service to and from school. He was an amazing man and he will be missed by so many. John I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving me and my family (as crazy as we are). May you rest in peace now and not hurt anymore know that we are all here together to take care of each other. We love you so much and we will miss you, but we are happy that you are free of pain!!!

The memories are what will carry you through and keep his spirit alive. Sending all our love and prayers.

I only met John once or twice and remember thinking how he came across as a real " regular guy". A guy I could see having a beer with and telling old LEO war stories.
