Robert was a Disabled Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient of the Korean War. Over the years he was active in various Veteran related activities and committees. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and had a prior history as a Union Laborer. He always enjoyed being an advocate for his fellow workers and found his place assisting others and organizing social groups. He was involved in the formation of the Korean War Veterans Committee in Boston and the development of the Korean War Memorial in Charlestown, MA. His interests ranged from the study of History as an avid reader and gardener of roses.
Family was of the utmost priority and importance to Robert He is survived by his sisters Diane Clausen and her husband Howard of South Dartmouth , MA and Barbara St. Germain and her husband Andre of Martha’s Vineyard . He was preceded in death by his sister Deborah Jocus of Norwood and brother Ronald Nenart of Bristol, RI. He is adored by many nieces and nephews who affectionately called him “Uncle Bobby”. He will always be highly regarded by those who he interacted with over many years throughout his life’s journeys’. He is beloved by all those who tended to him at the VA Medical Centers.
Mr. Nolan’s funeral service will be private. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions my be made in Robert’s memory to preferred charities.
