Robert was an Air Force Veteran, who was greatly cared for by the doctors and nurses at West Roxbury VA Hospital. Robert was passionate about his religion, family and friends.
Robert worked for the City of Needham for 38 years in the Information Technology Center. After he retired in 2007, he took a “fun” job at Home Depot that he thoroughly enjoyed, which included wearing an orange apron, his favorite color. He truly enjoyed his monthly time spent at the Soup Kitchen associated with The Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Walpole. Robert was a very generous and giving man who asked for nothing in return, however in his later days as his illness progressed, he received much generosity and love from family, friends and his amazing neighbors. “Uncle” as he was called by family and friends, will be missed dearly and always remain in our hearts.
Robert is survived by his loving sisters, Florine Wall and her husband David and Jacqueline Foye and her husband Douglas; his cherished nieces and nephews, David Wall Jr. and his wife Sherry, Diane Gallagher and her husband Mike, Jeffery Foye and his wife Jill and Michael Foye and his wife Kayla and their children; and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 4pm to 7pm at Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, Norwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s honor to ALS at donate.als.org.
