Richard A. “Dick” Morse of Carver, formerly of Dedham, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital at the age of 94. Born in Boston on March 6, 1927, he was the son of Andrew and Lilly (Anderson) Morse. His beloved wife of 69 years Viola (Gustafson) passed away in February 2020.
Dick was a proud WWII Navy veteran. He left high school in 1944 to join the Navy. One of his proudest moments was Dedham High School awarding him his high school diploma in 2001. Dick and Viola raised their family in East Dedham before moving to Carver. The family enjoyed summers camping at Maple Park in Wareham. Dick and Viola also enjoyed traveling in their RV to different areas of the country.
Dick was often at the typewriter as his greatest passion was sending letters to friends and family. He also loved his daily trips to Plymouth to walk and meet friends.
Dick was the loving father of Richard Morse and his wife Laurieanne of Dade City, FL, Steven Morse and his wife Laura of Ctr. Tuftonboro, NH, Karen Clougher and her husband Brian of Norwood and James Morse of Brockton. Cherished grandfather of Jeffery Morse and his wife Kanjana, Joseph Morse, Kelly Adler and her husband Justin, Kimberly Clougher, Michael Greez and his wife Robin, Noah Greez and great-grandfather of four. Devoted brother of the late Peter, Robert and Paul Morse, Lillian Gallant and Priscilla Hussey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
At the request of Dick’s family, all funeral services will be private with interment taking place with military honors at The Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery in West Roxbury.
