Joseph F. Curran Sr.

Joe was an advertising executive at the Boston Herald for 38 years, retiring in 1992. He was a longtime Selectman and former School Committee member for the Town of Norwood. He was on the Board of Directors of Norwood Bank, a member of the Norwood High School Hall of Fame and SKAL Travel Club.

Joe had a passion for all Norwood Sports and thoroughly enjoyed his annual trips to Maui, Hawaii.

Beloved husband of Elizabeth Ann (McGuff) Curran; loving father of Patti Lou Malacaria and her husband Andrew of Walpole, Joseph F. Curran, Jr. of Westwood and Maribeth Cunningham and her husband Russell of Norwood, and the late Christopher P. Curran; loving father-in-law of Karen Curran of Norwood; cherished grandfather of Maura, Sean, Lizzie, Christopher, Michael, Matthew, Kevin, Kathleen and the late Andrew; proud great-grandfather of Brayden and Chloe; devoted brother of E. Joanne McCready and Jack Cotter; son of the late Stephen J. Curran and Agnes (Linnehan) Cotter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10th at 9:00am from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), Norwood, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, May 9th from 3:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
