Eileen M. Tansey of Norwood, passed away on January 29, 2024 at age 81.
She is survived by her daughter Laura Tansey, son Mark Tansey, daughter-in-law Erin Tansey, brother Paul Sullivan and grandchildren Mia and Connor Tansey. She was predeceased by her parents John and Mary (Quinn) Sullivan, brothers Joseph Sullivan and John Sullivan, sisters Mary White and Ann Madden and former spouse Francis X. Tansey.
Born on August 2, 1942, Eileen was the youngest of six growing up in West Roxbury. A resident of Norwood for 40 years, Eileen had a very successful 30 year career at The International Union of Operating Engineers. Her faith was always important to her, serving as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Catherine of Siena Parish for many years. Known for her Irish wit and fun loving nature, she will be remembered as a dedicated and loving mother, Grammy and friend.
Services from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Friday February 2 at 10 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 547 Washington Street, Norwood at 11 AM. Visiting Hours in the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be private.
