Born on May 3, 1943, in Norwood, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Nora Naughton.
A lifelong resident of Norwood, Eileen graduated from Norwood High School. Eileen dedicated much of her life to being a stay at home mother, while she coordinated the Henry O. Peabody School evening program followed by the Town of Norwood Evening School Program. Later in life, she was employed by UPS. Her most fulfilling job was working as a Caregiver to the elderly. Eileen was an avid member of the Norwood Bowling League, former co-president and longtime supporter of the Norwood Athletics Booster Club, and Assistant Commodore of the Angelica Yacht Club. She loved caring for her five grandchildren; they were her world! Eileen also enjoyed cocktail hours on the deck in Mattapoisett, spending summers at the family home in Mattapoisett, and traveling.
Eileen is survived by her three children, James Forrest and his wife Jennifer of Norwood, Paul Forrest of Mattapoisett, Janine Forrest of Fairhaven; her brother, Kevin Naughton and his wife Jean of Wilmington, NC; her sisters, Mary Zirgiebel and her husband Jack of North Attleboro, Clare Stone of Dedham, Kathleen Naughton of Norwood; sister-in-law, Barbara Naughton of Norwood; five grandchildren Patrick, Paul Jr., Caroline, Sophia, and Frankie Forrest all of Norwood. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and all of her “summer friends”. Eileen was predeceased by her husband of 29 years Francis “Jim” Forrest, also by her brothers, Edward Norton of Norwood, and David Naughton of Norwood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Norwood. Due to the pandemic, attendance is restricted. Relatives and friends are invited to view the Mass live at 11AM Tuesday, December 15th, by visiting: stcatherinenorwood.org (click “view Mass live” on right side of homepage). Please note, the Mass will not be recorded for viewing at a later date. Burial at Highland Cemetery in Norwood will be private.
