Kay F. Barry, 78, formerly of Norwich, passed away on January 8, 2020 with her family by her side. She was born in Cortland to the late Harry and Katherine Morse. Kay was a longtime resident of the Norwich area, working in local businesses and owning the Country Music Hall in McDonough for many years. She also loved to spend time sewing, quilting, gardening and baking. Spending time with family was very important to Kay and she was known for spoiling her grandchildren.
Kay was predeceased by her husband, Maynard “Pete” Barry in 2003; her grandson, Timothy Michael Barry; her son in law, Benjamin Gregory; her sisters, Esther Goddard and Arra Mae Breed. Survivors include her children, Arramae Gregory, Martin and Rhonda Barry, James and Cynthia Barry, and Travis and Michael G. Cosby; her grandchildren, Dustin and Renee Byrne, Benjamin and Carrie Gregory, Marrisa Gregory, Ahsley Barry, Tiffany and Richard Warner, Nathan Barry, Zachary Barry, Lacey and Peter Tiller, and Lane Barry; her great-grandchildren, Cameron, Hayden, Jordan, Cameron, Griffin, Jolene, Kaitlyn, Jessica, Tucker, Skylar, Landon, Bailey, and PJ; her sisters, Lucinda Bonham, Doris Wilcox, and Sandra Cruikshank; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Kay will take place at 7:00 pm on Wednesday January 29, at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. with Rev. Jeremy Stopford officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Taylor Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until the time of service.
