Bernie was born on January 8, 1963 in Norwich the son of Francis and Dorothy (Kellogg) Brazee. He was a lifelong resident of Norwich and was educated in the Norwich schools. Not afraid of work, Bernie was a 32 years employee of the Chenango County Highway Dept. In his downtime he could often been seen at Rita’s with his buddies enjoying some good conversation about who knows what. If you happened to ask him a question, instead of responding yes, no or probably, you would quite often get the response of “prolly”. When at home he enjoyed his wood working where he crafted many useable items. He also had a passion for antique cars even though he didn’t own one.
On September 27, 1980 in Norwich he married Diana Russell who survives. Besides his wife Diana of Oxford, Bernie is survived by his son Christopher (Elizabeth) Brazee of Meridan, NY, his daughter Elizabeth Brazee and companion Reuben Wayman III also of Norwich and his 2 unborn twin granddaughters. Also surviving are his siblings Delilah Isbell of Oxford, Deborah (Dave) Sherboneau of Moravia, Cindy Brazee and companion Ron of Clyde, Margena Neyman of Washington, DC, Nioaka Brazee, Varley (Karen) Brazee of Oxford, Randy (Lolly) Brazee of Oxford, Gary (Rhonda) Brazee of Norwich and Kelvin Brazee of Oxford. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bernie was predeceased by his brother Steve Brazee.
