Norwich-William Richard Ladyga, age 97, of Norwich, passed away on July 9, 2020 at New London Health and Rehab in Waterford. He was born in Norwich on October 7, 1922 to the late Waclaw and Pauline (Awyzyc) Ladyga.
William was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a lifetime member of the VFW and the DAV. He worked as a machine operator at Federal Paperboard in Versailles, and then as a forklift operator up until his retirement at the Submarine Base in Groton. He was an avid golfer and was a club champion at the Lisbon Golf Club. He also enjoyed going to the casino.
William is survived by a son Richard Ladyga and his wife Christine of Mystic, a son Gary Ladyga and his wife Colleen of Franklin, a son Robert Ladyga, and a daughter Sharon Lucas and her husband Cliff of Norwich. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. He was
predeceased by brothers Stanley, John, Joe and Eddie and a sister Mary.
