William (Bill) J Falman Sr., 95, passed away quietly December 15 at Three Rivers Healthcare in Norwich Ct. Born January 19, 1923, Bill was a lifelong resident of Norwich. A veteran of World War II, Bill was a member of the Army Air Corp and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, stationed in India. A master carpenter by trade, Bill was a long time employee of the American Thermos Company, where he was in charge of building and ground maintenance. In addition to building several homes, he also made furniture, three wooden boats, and later in life, walking canes. Bill enjoyed a large vegetable garden, and always maintained a meticulous lawn and landscape. Not one to waste time, he always seemed to be involved in some project or repair activity. He took pride in his work, and often stated "That a project worth doing is worth doing right". He loved to hear and tell jokes, and was seldom a wall flower at gatherings of friends and family. Bill was predeceased by his wife Phyllis, and is survived by his daughter Carol Watson, and sons William and Paul, along with four grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, as well as one sister. Calling hours will be on Thursday, Dec. 20, from 11AM to 1 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at the Labenski Funeral Home 107 Boswell Avenue Norwich. Burial with military honors will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery Norwich. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 200 Executive Blvd S #4b, Southington, CT 06489.
