He was born in New London on Feb. 28, 1951 to the late Colombo and Mary (Costa) Tunucci.
In 1971 he married his beloved wife, Rose Marie Burnett in New London. She survives him.
Bob worked at General Dynamics Electric Boat Division in Groton in the Planning Department until he left to work at Pfizer in Animal Research until his retirement almost 5 years ago.
Bob was known as a man of integrity and a true friend to those who called him “friend”. He was an excellent drummer who enjoyed classic rock and playing as much as he could. Bob loved his Yankees and his pets. He was a devoted husband, father and “Grampy” and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Besides his wife, Bob is also survived by his son Paul A. Tunucci, daughter; Cheri L. Tunucci, sister; Sandra Wood, 6 grandchildren who were his pride and joy and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother; Carl Tunucci. He is also survived by his canine companions, “Buster” and “Abby” who were a great part of his life as well.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 23rd at 6pm as the Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen, 53 Norwich-New London Tnpk., Uncasville, CT. There will be a calling hour from 5pm until the time of the service. A celebration of Bob's life will follow immediately after his Memorial service. Location will be announced at his service. Burial is private at the convenience of the family.
