She was born April 25, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Harry and Lydia (Davis) Bierley.
She was married to the late A. Joseph Pysyk, who passed away July 28, 2008.
She was a 1941 graduate of NFA and then went on to URI, where she took library courses. She had last worked as the head librarian at St. Bernard High School.
She was an avid reader since the age of 4 and in her younger years enjoyed sewing and hand tailoring. She was an excellent cook.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Megargle, grandchildren Niko Pysyk and fiancé Dan Brown, Callie Twiss, Seth Megargle and wife Jessica, great grandchildren Elijah, Daniel, Harlow, Owen and Aubrey.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son Joseph B. Pysyk and by her brothers Joseph, George, William and by her sisters Anita, Winnie, Betty and Doreen.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 15, 2021 at St. Mary’s Church, 70 Central Ave. at 11 am, meeting directly at the church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
