Luther was born Jan 31, 1932 in Riverhead, LI, NY to the late Julia (James) Parrish and Jefferson Ellis Parrish Sr.
Luther was an US Amy veteran of the Korean War. He married Anna Silva on August 16, 1958. Luther was a truck driver for F. W. Brown Constriction Company for 32 years until his retirement. He was a devoted member of the Post 4 American Legion, a member of Retired Teamsters Local 493 and a member of the Norwich Senior Center. He was also an avid New York Yankees Fan. Luther was a fanatic about his beautiful yard. He would get on his hands and knees for countless hours pulling weeds until his good friend Skip Fraiter made him something to kneel on.
Luther is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Anna (Silva) Parrish; sister, Mary Delgado of Norwich and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle dearly.
He was predeceased by seven sisters and one brother; Edna Randall, Dolly Dunston, Elizabeth Parrish, Irene Robinson, Julia Jackson, Alice Parrish, Ruth Woodson and Jefferson Parrish.
A funeral home service will be held at the Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem Street in Norwich on Saturday July 6, 2019 at 11 am. A calling hour will be held one hour prior from 10 am to 11 am. Burial will be private at the convenience of his family.
