N. HOLLYWOOD, CA – John W. Gilmore, also known as “J.A.K.” died peacefully on June 29th at Astoria Nursing Home and Rehab in Sylmar, CA.
He was born in Norwich, CT on July 21, 1928 to the late Ray D. and Trena (Krumbholz) Gilmore. He was the brother of the late Donald Gilmore of Savannah, GA, James Gilmore of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and Russell Gilmore of East Greenwich, RI.
John was a member of the United Congregational Church in Norwich. He worked at the General Dynamics Electric Boat Division before moving to California many years ago, where he resided until his passing. He was an antique dealer for more than 60 years.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday July 21st 2017 at 11am at Yantic Cemetery, Lafayette St., Norwich, CT. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
