NORWICH - Georgia A. Marr, 91, beloved wife of the late Emanuel Marr, died from heart complications on November 24, 2014 following surgery at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Danielson, Connecticut, daughter of James and Jennie Pappas of Norwich, Connecticut. She married Emanuel Marr on April 28, 1946 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Norwich, Connecticut .Georgia is survived by her three loving children, Frances and husband Ronald DeLozier of Texas, Joanne and husband Mark Grieco of California, and Michael and wife Audrey Marr of Uncasville, Connecticut; Four grandchildren, James, Nicole, Josh, and Michael; Five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Kaleb, William, Mariah, and Tyson; her loving Brothers William Pappas of California, Peter and wife Frances Pappas of Norwich, and loving sister, Heidi and her husband Tony Petros of Norwich; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Charles and Andrew Pappas. She resided at the AHEPA Apartments on Hamilton Ave, in Norwich where she thrived, being among her precious friends. She attended Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church where she was very active in the community, was choir director for many years, a member of the Philoptochos Society and received the AHEPA Community Service Award. Georgia was a key volunteer in the Twenty-Five year fund raising effort by AHEPA that helped pay off the mortgage of the Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 10-11 AM at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Norwich, followed by her funeral service and burial at Maplewood Cemetery.
