Donna L Obertello

She was born on September 10th, 1957 in Stonington, CT to the late Dominick and Elizabeth (Santos) Obertello. After graduating high school she worked in the area as a driver for various transportation companies.

Donna loved the ocean, birds and being with her family. She enjoyed crafts of all sorts. She was proud of her strong advocacy for gay and lesbian persons and treated everyone with dignity and respect and wasn’t afraid to voice her opinion. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter; Sarah A. Obertello with whom she resided, one brother; Dominick Obertello Jr., three sisters; Elizabeth Anne Oberman, Robin Johnson, and Camie Graley, two grandchildren; Joshua Erik Obertello and Maya Elizabeth Laroco and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother; Anthony Obertello.

Family and friends are invited to Church and Allen Funeral Service in Norwich, CT on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 10am until noon. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help defray the funeral costs be sent to Donna’s daughter Sarah at 19 Penobscot St., Norwich, CT 06360.
