Carol Sevin Foster

Severna Park, MD - Carol W. Foster, age 81, of Severna Park, Maryland, passed away on June 14, 2011. She was born in Norwich, CT on January 6, 1930 to the late Edwin and Olive (Saxton) Sevin. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth A. Foster.

Carol spent her childhood growing up in Norwich, CT and most of her adult life in Dover, MA. She also lived in Mystic, CT, Tavares FL. and spent many summers at Groton Long Point, CT. She was a graduate of Norwich Free Academy and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics at Simmons College in Boston. She enjoyed sailing with her husband in their catamaran along the New England Coast. She was a wonderful bridge player, homemaker, cook, and warmed the hearts of all who knew her with her contagious laughter. Carol was an active member of St. Dunstan’s Church in Dover, MA and later at St. Edwards Church in Florida.

She is survived by a son David L. Foster of Lynn, MA, a daughter Diane W. Newman and her husband Donald of Severna Park, MD, grandchildren Jennifer Newman and Mark Newman and her most beloved dog Teddy. She is predeceased by a brother Henry “Sax” Sevin.

Family and friends may visit Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of the Funeral Home service at 10:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Maplewood cemetery.
