Brooklyn-Brian Joseph Szela, age 78, of Brooklyn, passed away at his home on November 6, 2024. He was born in Putnam on February 14, 1946 to the late Michael and Norma (Titcomb) Szela. He was married to Arlene (Zulkiewicz) Szela. She survives him.
Brian was a US Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He worked as a bottle maker for Anchor Glass Company for 27 years. He was an avid saltwater fisherman and enjoyed classic cars.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son Kenneth Szela of Brooklyn, a daughter Lorie (Szela) Nordman of Woodstock, grandchildren Zachary Szela and his wife Melissa of Canterbury, Bailey Nordman of Woodstock and a great grandson Maxwell Szela. He also leaves behind a sister Joann Szela of Killingly, a brother Jan Szela and his wife Maryann of Pomfret and several nieces. He is predeceased by a brother Robert Szela.
