Our beloved father was born April 29, 1928 in Glendale, California to Neil M. and Mabel W. Hunter and passed away June 7, 2018 at in Woodland Hills, California. Bob is survived by his children Janine Graves (Floyd), and Steve Hunter (Jodi), as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Bob grew up in Van Nuys, California and graduated from Van Nuys High School. He attended Los Angeles Trade Technical College studying to be an electrician. Bob served our country in the Air National Guard from 1949 until 1962 achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant as an aircraft electrician wiring the “Guppy” transport planes. He also worked for On Mark Engineering during this time machining and testing parts for the Apollo missions. Bob went on to work for Barbara Ann Bread and Wonder Bread retiring in 1990.
Bob loved go fishing both on the ocean and local lakes. He loved gardening and grew bushels of sweet peas every year. He also grew roses of many colors. When he cut roses for his wife, Betty, he would use his pocketknife to clip every thorn from every stem. Bob loved animals and enjoyed the company of many dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and birds over the years. His cats Spirit and Rusty now live with Janine. All his family, friends, and cats will miss Bob. We take comfort in knowing he is home with his Lord.
