Manuel Renteria

On Wednesday, 26 November, 2014, dad, father-in-law, and grampie, Manuel Renteria, went to be with his Lord and Savior. Manuel was born March 12, 1923, in Nuevo San Lucas, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Pedro and Inez (Portillo) Renteria. Married to Prisciliana Salcido Torres in 1949 until her passing in August of 1989.

Manuel Renteria, before his stoke in 2000, enjoyed mechanics (working on his truck), driving trips, gardening, and horse racing at Sunland Park Racetrack in New Mexico.

Manuel Renteria is survived by his daughter, Irma Inez Russell; son in law, Larry E. Russell, immediate grandsons, Kelly, Joshua, and Matthew Russell. He is also survived by step daughters, Anastacia (Anne) Mena, Eduvijes (Eddie) Gardea, Raquel Barron and husband Fidel Barron. Manuel is also survived by 24 grandchildren and many great grandchildren of the Gardea, Mena, Rivera, Cedillo and Barron Families. He is also survived by his sister Maria Alvarez and families, in Nuevo San Lucas, Chihuahua, Mexico, and by his brother Alfonso Renteria, of Juarez, Mexico along with several nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on December 13, 2014 with a Funeral Service: at 11 a.m. at Bastian & Perrott, Oswald Mortuary, 18728 Parthena St., Northridge, CA. 91324

Burial following funeral at Eternal Valley Memorial Park in Garden of Liberty, 23287 Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321,.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Stroke Association or the American Cancer Society.
