Thelma Opal Thompson Brunetti, age 87, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., formerly of Northport, died Aug. 5, 2012, at home. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willie Daniel Brunetti officiating. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Brent Cemetery in Brent with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan D. Brunetti; her parents, Dillard and Myrtle Thompson; her sisters, Maudean Junkins and Marion Lois Ashcraft; and her brother, Paul Thompson.
Survivors include her sons, Willie D. Brunetti (Lee) and Arthur D. Brunetti (Janet); her brothers, Dalton Thompson, Leland Thompson, Olan Thompson, Fred Thompson, and Barney Thompson; her grandchildren, Dan Brunetti, Carolina Little, and Jan Spaulding; and seven great-grandchildren.
Thelma was born in Camp Hugh, Alabama and was a "Rosie Riveter" in World War II. She married Dan Brunetti, and they lived and worked in Evansville, Ind. After retirement, she moved back to Alabama. Following the death of her husband Dan, she moved to Fernandina Beach, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Amelia Baptist Church, 961167 Buccaneer Trail, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034.
