Netie was born in the Antioch community of Pickens County, Alabama on November 17, 1932 to Wilton and Bama Richards. After graduating from Liberty High School, she went on to work at Westinghouse for over thirty years until its closure. Although she maintained close friendships with the people she met during school and work, her greatest passion was helping her only daughter, Janice, raise her two grandchildren, Josh and Carrie, who lovingly called her “Gee Gee.”
After marrying her late husband, Pascal, on November 22, 1961, Netie moved to Northport to start a family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in sports and music and having the family over to eat her home cooked meals. She was also a faithful member of the Coker Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Netie is preceded in death by her husband, Pascal; father and mother, Wilton and Bama Richards; twin sister, Ruthie Butler; niece, Nancy Robbins. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Ball; grandson, Josh Ball and his wife, Chelsea; granddaughter, Carrie Quitero and her husband, Victor; brother-in-law, James Butler; great niece, Kayla Junkin, and many other family and friends.
