Born on February 7, 1937, in Columbus, Mississippi, to Maude and Leslie Wood, Mrs. Faucett is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Sam P. Faucett III; daughters Margaret Faucett Phillips (Clyde) and Marsha Faucett Crow (Glenn); grandchildren Hunter Phillips (Jessica), Drew Phillips (Nikki), Sam Phillips (Holly), Brad Crow (Ashley), Bryan Crow (Weezie), and Leslie Crow Stone (Drew); great grandchildren Jaden, Anders, Cora, Joe, and Becca May Crow, Rhett, Annabelle, Asher, and Brooks Phillips; and her sister Jean Carlile (Ken). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great grandson Elijah Odom Crow.
Mrs. Faucett was educated at MSCW and Tulane, worked at Gulf State Paper Corporation, and taught in the Tuscaloosa City Schools. Her involvement in civic organizations was extensive, and she was a devoted member of Christ Episcopal Church. She was an avid bridge player and loved playing card games and bunco with her friends.
There will be a private family burial with grandsons and sons-in-law serving as pall bearers, and a memorial service will be held at a later date, with Sunset Funeral Home handling the arrangements.
