In his 82 ½ years he was always HONEST, FAIR, and willing to help anyone that came along with whatever need they had, he and nana were the go-to people. He Coached boys baseball at the Montgomery baseball field for about 15 years. Easy to say he invested his time, energy, and effort into over 100 kids during that time.
He was the founder and President of the RED HILL HUNTING CLUB for many years. He loved deer hunting and turkey hunting. He loved hearing the dogs run. He had about 200 dogs thru the years to help him with hunting. He had his favorite dogs. One of his very favorite’s is buried on the left side of the road on the way up to the Ridge and for years after SPECK passed, we had to salute him every time we drove past him. (True story)
He never missed a grandkids game and always paid them for their outstanding plays. He was always present for any kind of events they were involved with. Never missed a thing. He had many stories of his time in the Air Force. He travelled everywhere you can think in the military and saw lots of places. But he was most happy in front of the TV in his recliner. Until recently Every car and every truck, lawn mower EVERY thing he brought home he rebuilt the engine, and got them running like a charm. There wasn’t a thing he couldn’t do or fix.
He was Member of the Mayfield Fire department and won 2022 Volunteer FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR and Got a trophy to prove it. This made him so proud. He loved to help at the Fire Department in every way possible. He was at every fish fry, Butt sale, and cleaning there was……. whether he needed to be there or not.
His next favorite thing to do was cut grass and weed eat every other day. And of Course, nobody could do it as good as he could.
The only thing he was not good at was telling Nana NO! After almost 61 years of marriage, he never learned how. Or he was just smart enough not to try…..
