Belinda Kay Bohannon

NORTHPORT | Belinda Kay Bohannon, age 54, of Northport, died December 10, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Sunset Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Hallman officiating. Burial will follow in Samantha, Ala., with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leon Leslie Waldrop, and mother, Beatrice Waldrop.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Bohannon; daughters, Tiffany Bohannon and Lori McAbee (Leroy McAbee, Jr.); sons, Douglas Shelby (Catherine), Michael Shelby, and Jimmie Bohannon (Julie); brothers, Curtis Waldrop and Kevin Waldrop; and nine grandchildren.

Belinda was born March 28, 1960, and became an angel December 10, 2014. She was a devoted wife of 20 years, a loving mother and grandmother, and a dedicated friend. She loved life and was full of spirit. Her smile would light up a room and her laughter would warm your heart.

She enjoyed taking pictures, being with her family, and Alabama football. She cherished her family and loved her grandchildren dearly. But more than anything; Belinda loved Jesus Christ with all her heart. She was loved by all who knew her, and will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
