In the 60’s he attended Art Center College in Los Angeles, California where he completed his degree in Industrial Design.
In the late 60’s he moved to New York to begin his career as an architectural illustrator. In 1972 he returned with his family to Vancouver to set up his practice here.
He was a signature member of the National Watercolour Society and had over 40 years of experience working as an architectural illustrator. Examples of his illustrations have been published in many magazines, papers and books over the years. His work is included in the Canadian Centre of Architecture in Montreal and in the collection of the Avery library at Columbia University. Ron developed illustrations for sky train stations in Vancouver. He brought his concept designs to life with pen, ink, and watercolours.
After his retirement, Ron turned his design talents to creating imaginary wooden sculptures of whimsical creatures, buildings and machines. His imagination was always working at full speed.
He is survived by Anne, his loving wife of 56 years, his daughter Cynthia, her husband David, his three grandchildren; April, Noah, Naomi and his brother Bill and wife Nancy. Ron was a loving, caring, very talented gentle man who will be terribly missed. Celebration of life to be determined in the coming months.
