Only child of Frederick George Copsey and his wife Mary Emma (nee Tyler). Ellie was the dearly beloved wife of the late Brigadier General Charles Hartley Atherden Thompson, C.D., B.Sc. (familiarly known as Tommy or Denny) who pre-deceased her in June, 2013.
Companions and soul-mates for nearly 62 years, Tommy and Ellie travelled and lived back and forth across Canada, Europe, and the U.K. during the course of Tommy's distinguished, thirty-two year career with the RCAF before retiring to North, and later West Vancouver. Ellie is survived by several nieces and nephews in BC and Ontario.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Valentina, Mila and others who provided kind and gentle care to Ellie during the past seven years.
Cremation and inurnment of ashes have been arranged with the Boal Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens, North Vancouver.
There will be no funeral or memorial service, but family, friends and care-givers will remember with joy gathering on December 1, 2019 to celebrate Ellie's 100th birthday.
