Mary passed away peacefully at home on March 19, 2019. She was 90 years old.

Survived by her daughters Florence (Barrie), Linda (Ron),Dorothy and Son John. Grandchildren Diana(Eric), Blair, Sara(Peter), Daniel(Fiona), Paolo(Kishia) Benjamin. GG(Great Grandma) to Alexa and Samantha.
Mary was born in North Vancouver July 9, 1928 in the old North Vancouver Hospital on 11th Street. Her Mother and Father had emigrated from Scotland, and took up residence in North Vancouver. Her Father was a respected Naval Officer in the war and after was the Chief Engineer on the Ferries that ran from North Vancouver to Vancouver.
Mary met her Husband John in Toronto, and married. Soon after the birth of Florence and Linda, his job took them to Ottawa. John and Dorothy were born in the Grace hospital there. They bought their first home in what was then the Township of Napeon.
Mary always wanted to move back to North Vancouver to be close to her parents and when the opportunity came up in 1968, they packed up everything and came across Canada by Train.
They bought their current home in North Vancouver in 1969 where she raised her family, walked her dear Westie, Pip, worked as a bookkeeper and secretary and joined the choral group Dogwood Chorus part of the Sweet Adelines, as well as the Carousel Chorus and was part of a quartet called Reflections in Harmony. She made many long lasting friendships singing with these women, and right to the end they kept her smiling when visiting or talking to her on the phone. She'll miss her end of the month lunches at the White Spot and critiquing the latest Canucks hockey game with one of her closest friends.
We wish to Thank the Staff of Coastal Health -South Team for all they did in the last few months and days of her life, helping to keep her at home and a Special Thank You to her dear friend Tammy who kept her laughing to the end!
All their help made her final wishes come true of not having to leave her home. Her Family was near when she passed, and she went peacefully.
She wished to be cremated and pictures of her beloved Pip and her best buddy Freddy, a sweet dog she looked after for years, were with her to keep her company.
