Margaret Irene Pollitt

Margaret Irene Pollitt passed away peacefully on March 11, 2018 with family by her side. Margaret was pre-deceased by 2 brothers, one sister and her loving husband of 64 years. She is survived by her sister Lucy Hayward, her three sons, Robert (Angela), Brian (Kathy), Tim (Leslie); her 6 grandchildren, Christine (Ravi), Keith (Pam), Angela, Travis, Nicholas (Jami), Shawn; and 3 great grandchildren, Ashley, Devyn, and Emerson.

Margaret was born in North Vancouver on July 24, 1916 to parents Henry & Florence Straw. Margaret married the love of her life Donald Frederick Pollitt on August 11, 1939. Donald worked at & later owned Irwin & Billings Insurance Company in North Vancouver and Margaret raised their 3 sons. Margaret was an enthusiastic bridge player all her life and enjoyed lawn bowling, camping, fishing, and outings with her family. After Don retired they moved to Peachland BC where they enjoyed swimming, boating, fishing, happy hours on the beach and visiting with family & friends. Margaret moved back to North Van in Sept 2008 and resided at Summerhill Retirement Residence where she loved playing bridge and going on local excursions with her dear friend Faye. Margaret moved to Evergreen House in July 2016 and resided there until her passing at the age of 101.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St Martin's Anglican Church, 195 Windsor Road East, North Vancouver on Saturday May 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
