Geza Jozsef Revay, passed away unexpectedly on May 15th, 2023 at his home in North Vancouver. He was 75 years old and is survived by his wife, Eva, children, Krisztina (49), Victoria (45) and Mark (33) and grandchildren, Zachary (16), Zoey (13), Ottavio (4), Ari (2) and Louie (2 months). Forever remembered by his sons-in-laws, Geoffrey and Diego and daughter in-law, Lee. He was predeceased by his father, Geza Revay and his mother, Ilona Imreh.
Geza was born in Budapest, Hungary and lived the first half of his life there and married the love of his life, Eva in 1972. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in June of 2022. Geza emigrated with Eva to Canada with their, then two daughters, in 1988. Their son was born in 1990 in Nelson, BC where they started the foundations of their Canadian roots. Geza was a kind-hearted, free-spirited, and creative soul with many passions. He loved to write; his book of poetry/auto biography was published in 2018 in Hungary. He loved to play chess and during the last few years of his life played competitively on online forums. He loved to travel, one of his favorite countries was Thailand where he travelled with Eva and old friends several times. He loved music and arts and an amazing singer and whistler. His life-long passion and career revolved around food; creating it, inventing it and enjoying it.
Geza was known for his eccentric humor among his friends and relatives. He always had deepphilosophical thoughts and loved to express his opinion on any matter. He maintained close ties to his birthplace through lifelong friendships and loved his new country and was forever grateful for the opportunity to reestablish his family here. Geza adored his children and grandchildren and was happiest when he had the family around him.
A family and friends viewing will be held on May 19th, 2023 at 1pm - 2pm at First Memorial Funeral Services, Boal Chapel (1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver, BC).
