Dear Nathan and the Reimer and Riel Families,

My best memories of Cat all surrounded laughing until we were crying. She and Cassie were just so hilarious to be around together. 

I remember one afternoon sitting in the basement of the North Van house watching old home movies of Cat. We watched them over and over again, dissecting every silly thing she said and did, until we were laughing so hard we were all crying.

CR, you’ll be remembered forever in our hearts . You were my one  Percent Indian friend .we worked together ,laughed at my stupid jokes and played bongos .We talked about curry ,spices and shared food at work.You were like family to us .You celebrated Canada day with our family .For so many years you have joined us in our backyard lovo (luau) party.Going through years of photos of you only brings tears .

When I first met Caitlin at work I was attracted by her penetrating voice and beguiling eyes. As she became a dear friend,  the real Caitlin revealed her true self . Her  enormous generosity,  a commitment to everything she did, her delicious sense of humor and an honesty that frequently caught me off guard are the things I will remember. Sometimes you meet someone that causes you to  reflect on the kind of person you want to be. Caitlin was one such person.  Her spirit will always be with me.  God bless Caitlin and those she's left behind. 

Nathan our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. We only had the pleasure of meeting Caitlyn once due to the distance from our home to yours but we remember she was a lovely girl with a gorgeous smile! To the Riel and Reimer families we grieve with you and pray for strength and peace! 

I knew Caitlin through my dad Matt Buchanan. They worked together at Paris, but more personally I knew her when she would help my dad out at his field. Caitlin always came with a can attitude and a positive spin on things even when everything was in complete disarray. She made me smile and laugh and just live in the moment. She was a bright light. 
I am very sorry for your family's loss. She will hold a special place in so manys people's hearts. You can not have a smile that lights up a room like hers and not forever touch people.

We are so so saddened by the loss of this beautiful young talented Caitlin, who has left a huge hole in our hearts. Caitlin was a huge part of our family for many years. Her smile and bubbly personality will be missed by us all. We will also miss her coffee, her visits to Kelowna to get her winter tires put off and on and we will miss her amazing generosity and wonderful spirit. She has left us far too soon.
We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for always being there for our family...and especially our daughters. I will never forget the beautiful card you drew for Liv when she was born, or how you brought her a toothbrush for her church dedication because you knew she loved them.  You were always paying attention and always so thoughtful.  You were one of the first people to come and hold each one of our girls after they were born, and even came to birthdays.  I've attached a picture of you with Hali because it meant so much to us when you came and brought us food after she was born; you even brought Liv her first Starbucks! Your gentle presence was always welcome, your beautiful smile brightened any place, and your wonderful laugh still rings in my ears.  Thank you for your friendship Caitlin, there will forever be a hole in our lives with you gone.

The memories of Caitlin keep flooding in and the common thread in all of them is how loyal Caitlin was. She showed up for people. She showed up for me and for my kids. She was always willing to help and with a smile on her face.  She is greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of her family and friends during this difficult time.
