Raymond Richard “Dick” Irwin
Age 93 years and 5 months. Dick was born in Ada, Ohio on Aug. 28, 1928. He passed away under the care of hospice on Jan. 10, 2022 in Palm Beach Gardens.
He graduated from Ada High School in Ohio continuing to receive an Associate Degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in HVAC Technology. Dick proudly served as a US Marine in China, Semper Fi.
Married to Patsy M. “Patty” Irwin on Dec.24, 1948, they were lovingly married for 73 years.
Dick was Co-Founder of Farmer & Irwin Corp. as C.E.O. for 42 years with Partner Bob Farmer in Riviera Beach, Fl. Still in continuous operation performing Plumbing, HVAC and Fire Sprinkler work under third generation operation.
He enjoyed flying his beloved C 5325 T 210 for pleasure and business, enjoyed Salt Water Fishing, Elk Hunting out West, his N.C. Tree Farms in Plumtree, NC, cheering on the Miami Dolphins and participating in family activities. He was a life-long “Paul Harris Fellow” in Singer Island Rotary, was Past National President of the NAPHCC Assoc. and Founding Member of the First Presbyterian Church in NPB. He practiced and lived as a Christian.
Dick is survived by his wife Patty M. Irwin, his 4 children and spouses, Steven R. Irwin (Linda), Randall L. Irwin (Kathe), Laura L. Mitchell (Emery) & Jeffrey G. Irwin (Christy), 10 Grandchildren, numerous Great Grandchildren, Nieces & Nephews.
He was pre-deceased in death by Parents Ivan & Lida Irwin, 2 Sisters Edna & Mary, 3 Brothers Jim, Jack, Bob in WWII & Grandson Randall R. “Ray” Irwin.
The Family requests in lieu of Flowers, to do an act of kindness to a Charity of your choice, The Homeless in need of Food, Support of Children in need at Home or Abroad, Perform an act of service to an elderly person in need of help, as there are great needs in our World today.
A Celebration of Life with visitation will be held on Monday, January 17th from 4-7pm at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral and Event Center, 754 US Highway 1, North Palm Beach.
