Joe graduated from Southwest Dekalb High School in 1963 and married his high school sweetheart Donna Virginia Crane in 1966. Joe attended Young Harris College then graduated from Georgia State University in 1968. He entered the Army and after training at Fort Benning and Fort Gordon he was stationed at Arlington Hall in Virginia. He worked for the Department of Defense whereupon he received a Joint Service Commendation Medal for “Meritorious Service while assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency” in 1970. He began his career in banking and real estate which brought him to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Joe retired after 30 plus years as the Director of Government affairs for the Palm Beach Kennel Club and the Rooney Family. He served on several boards for local businesses and was a member of multiple state and local committees.
Joe was passionate about life, his family, the outdoors, and golf. He was so loved by all his family and friends. He was known for helping others and for his witty comments that could come at any time and that would light up any room.
He is survived by his wife Donna of 57 years and his two children Tonya Love Cheatham (Lachlan) and Joseph B. Love III (Heather) and his grandchildren Joseph B. Love IV and Sasha Elizabeth Love. His sister Donna Love Echols (Mike) and their son Michael Steven Echols Jr., Brother-in-law Robert Steven Crane (Karen) their daughter Jennifer Crane Huff (Christopher), Sister-in-law Barbara Crane Oliver, nieces, nephews and many cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held on March 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Christ Fellowship, South Campus 5312 Northlake Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens, Florida followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Big Dog Ranch Rescue, Loxahatchee, Florida.
