John (“Jack”) Carrick of Singer Island, FL passed away peacefully in his home during the early morning of his 83rd birthday on August 10, 2018. Originally from Nashua, NH, the son of George Carrick and Mary Fanning was captain of the lacrosse team at University of New Hampshire where he graduated in 1957. Following graduation, Jack served more than 10 years in the U.S. Army and attained the rank of Major before later retiring from Morgan Stanley after 33 years as a financial consultant. Jack enjoyed the game of golf, cherished his grandchildren, and always had a kind word or entertaining story to share. Predeceased by his wife, Carol, Jack is survived by son and daughter-in-law, John and Catherine Carrick, and daughter and son-in-law, Tricia and Gary Tharp and their children Zoë, Gavin, and Miles. The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the many friends, family and caregivers who comforted Jack in his final days.
Predeceased by his wife, Carol, Jack is survived by son and daughter-in-law, John and Catherine Carrick, and daughter and son-in-law, Tricia and Gary Tharp and their children Zoë, Gavin, and Miles.
