grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Elsie left this world peacefully on December
5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 82 years old.
Born on May 15, 1942, in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, Elsie grew up enjoying the coastal charm of
her hometown before moving to North Palm Beach, Florida, in 1963. For over six decades, she
called North Palm Beach her home, filling it with warmth, love, and countless cherished memories.
Elsie was the devoted wife of the late Michael T. Keehan and a proud and nurturing mother to her
children, Mick Keehan (Christine) and Kathryn Koerner (David). Her legacy lives on in her adored
grandchildren: Nicole Downie, Colt Keehan, Sydney Koerner, Devyn Koerner, Riley Keehan, and
Michael Keehan, as well as her precious great-grandchild, Cayde Downie. Elsie also leaves behind
her cherished brothers, Howard Onorato (Nancy) and Frank Onorato (Dot), and a large extended
family who will forever treasure her memory. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Elsa, who
brought her constant joy and companionship.
Elsie dedicated her professional life to the well-being of children, serving as a School Food Service
Manager until her retirement. Her career reflected her caring nature and genuine kindness.
Family was the cornerstone of Elsie’s life. She found immense joy in playing games and baking
Christmas cookies with her grandchildren and embarking on family trips to Disney World. She
created a home filled with laughter and traditions, where everyone felt loved and welcomed. Her
Kentucky Derby parties, complete with her favorite bourbon drinks, were legendary among friends
and family alike.
Elsie cherished her friendships and the simple pleasures of life. She delighted in Friday night
dinners with her dearest friends, Ruthie Proctor and Fran Hickman, and shared countless
unforgettable afternoons at the theatre with her close companion, Barbara Koerner.
Elsie’s strength, grace, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but never forgotten. She leaves
behind a legacy of compassion, joy, and countless fond memories that her family and friends will
carry with them always. Her memory will forever remain a blessing to all who knew her.
